Irish Times Photography Competition 2015..its back!
In 2013 I had four Images Shortlisted & one recieved an Honourable Mention in this Competition, it was the first Year they had a section for Street Photography and after a two year break its great to see it back and I'm sure the standard will be very high. Overall Awards & Prizes:
The Irish Times Amateur Photographer of the Year: €1,000 Cash prize
Best Photograph, as selected by the Judging Panel: €1,000 Cash prize
Special - “People’s Prize” - The winner will be chosen from a selection of the best images by a public vote to allow readers vote for their favourite image.
New this year: the People’s Choice Prize
Keep an eye out for the People’s Choice competition, which will open in June. The competition judges make their selection from competition entries and readers can vote for their favourite image. The prize sponsor, Bermingham Cameras, (www.berminghamcameras.ie) have provided us with a prize of a €500 voucher for photographic equipment from their store. This will be presented to the reader who chooses the winning image, and the photographer who took the photo will receive a bespoke, hand-crafted trophy.
Candid or posed images of human activity in public places, in urban or rural environments, reflecting life today. The judges will be looking for fresh and original images in any style whether classic or contemporary. Digital manipulation other than image processing for quality or colour balance is not permitted in this category. Images may be colour or monochrome.
